The fourth and final UK single from 'The Game' became their biggest selling single in America. Inspired by the soul music he had listened to as a child, John came up with Queen's most unusual single yet. With its funky bassline, 'Another One Bites The Dust' was considered to left of field to be released as a single, not least by Brian and Roger, who were somewhat uncertain of the song's potential. However, white label copies found their way to leading black-orientated radio stations at the time, who initially thought that The Queens were a black act. At the behest of no less than Michael Jackson, and the huge response from radio listeners, Queen's American record company, Electra, released the single, and it had soon topped several of the major US charts.

The video was again basic performance footage, this time shot by Daniella Green, according to most sources, in Dallas, Texas, five weeks into Queen's American tour of that year, on August 9th 1980. However, Roger believes it was recorded in Detroit in the middle of soundcheck. There were several takes recorded, and in between them, Freddie switched caps - resulting in a somewhat disjointed but all the more interesting video as a result.

The poor quality of the picture is a sure sign of its low budget nature, as surprisingly Queen's biggest hit at that time had their cheapest video since 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Nevertheless, its popularity assured it a place on both 'Greatest Flix' in 1981, and 'Greatest Video Hits 1' in 2003.
