The fourth and final single from The Works album was Brian's anthemic rocker Hammer To Fall. The choice of single gave the band another historic first under their belt - in that all four members of the band had individually penned a Top 20 UK hit in the same year, when the single, released in the same week as Freddie's solo record Love Kills, reached number 13.

The video was a much more straightforward affair than their recent offerings, and harked back to the days of their early promos. Directed by David Mallet once again, the footage was shot at the Forrest Nationale in Brussels on 25th August after a sell-out tour-opening concert the previous night. At the gig, the band asked the audience to return the following day for the shoot. However, most likely assuming it was all a joke, the vast majority stayed away; in fact only a dozen fans turned up. Undeterred, the shoot went ahead anyway, with the band's performance that day interspersed with footage shot the previous night. The end result features on the Greatest Flix II VHS and the Greatest Video Hits 2 DVD, though the latter was incorrectly mastered and accidentally features a stretched picture.
