Studio Version
Due to the continuing popularity of the We Are The Champions / We Will Rock You combination across the globe, on the same day as the shoot for the Spread Your Wings promotional video, Queen also found time to run through two or three takes of We Will Rock You, despite the increasingly cold weather.
Again, shot in the grounds of Roger's new home, this is a very basic performance video of which two versions have been released. The first and most common was included on the Greatest Flix video in 1981, but an alternate version was found whilst preparing Queen's first DVD compilation, Greatest Video Hits 1 and was included in place of the existing edit.
Fast Live Version
In addition to the Love Of My Life promotional video, a second video was used to promote the Live Killers album - this time for the so called "fast live version" of We Will Rock You, an arrangement of Brian's world famous sing-a-long that is a completely different and highly powerful beast in its own right!
Directed by Rock Flicks, this is a raw live performance from the band's gig at The Summit in Houston, Texas on 11th December 1977, eighteen months prior to the release of Live Killers, during the Coronation inspired Queen Lizzy tour with fellow rock heavyweights Thin Lizzy. However, once again until the release of Greatest Flix it was rarely seen – as the track was only released as a single in America, where it failed to chart. Nevertheless it remains one of the best attempts at capturing Queen's live performance into a three minute promotional clip, and was also included on the Greatest Video Hits 1 DVD.
